The Five Points

The first step in analyzing any software system is to document the business processes that the software system supports. This includes taking a detailed look at the subject matter and business practice of the market sector in which the software system functions.
In order to correctly implement any software project, the project staff needs to understand the service processes of the organization. Five Points staff is primarily located in human service organizations; many of our staff have Masters Social Work and have worked directly within the human service organizations. At Five Points we understand the environmental and political challenges of a human service organization in today’s marketplace. We design systems that work seamlessly in an organization, IT is seen as an integral part of the organization, not as a third wheel.

Five Points has the ability to develop in numerous technical environments and languages. Our highest level of expertise is within Asp.net, Cache, Java and Oracle 10g with an in depth knowledge of database systems for OLTP, Data Warehousing, ETL and reporting. All our software development and technical services are operated out of our headquarters office with our hosting facilities in Tier I data centers in 3 geographic locations spreads across the country. We believe in a team atmosphere for programming at Five Points, there is a continual introduction of new software tools to enhance our system, with more experienced developers mentoring the junior staff. We continually cross analyze the code being developed against the specifications, to ensure the customer obtains a software system useful to their services.

The most important aspect in software is to get the information you put in back to you in a useful, dynamic format. Five Points understands the data in human services. We understand data for outcomes you want to track and we strive to turn your raw data into information you can use to help guide your organization.

Training is one of the most integral steps in the process of software implementation if a system is to be truly integrated into an organization. As an experienced provider of child welfare and information services training, we understand that a training program that includes the appropriate mix of face-to-face and remote instruction, hands-on exercises, and cases studies produces better learning experience so participants achieve long-lasting retention of training content. The Five Points approach includes these different delivery mechanisms and will result in positive participant outcomes. We utilize live onsite training sessions with user documentation including screen shots displaying the steps to each user and calls outs to define the steps for each section of staff. We don’t rush training to meet our deadlines, you set the timeline and only get ready to implement when you are ready to implement.

At Five Points, the support phase is more than security, hosting and bug fixes. Once a system is implemented and "gone live" in an agency, Five Points is available to host, support and maintain the software for the agency. Our team is your continued partner, we share updated functionality across users, we complete ongoing onsite and web-based training and we meet with users to discuss and design new modules as a system evolves.
