Methodist Children's Home

Methodist Children's Home (MCH), Waco, Texas is a non-profit child care ministry affiliated with the seven United Methodist Annual Conferences of Texas and New Mexico. Founded in 1890, the Home began as an orphanage and has developed into a comprehensive program of care. The Home serves 700 children daily through residential care, a Boys Ranch, foster care and a college program.

MCH engaged Five Points in 2007 to develop a web-based system to support its child welfare functions for two major residential children’s homes, each with multiple residences. The system contains over 120 child welfare business functions including, but not limited to: inquiry, admission, demographics, placement, child protection, activity tracking, event reporting, medical services, service provision, education, licensing, discharge, and after care planning.

Five Points worked with MCH management and staff to define their business processes and system requirements, and to re-engineer processes where necessary to more efficiently support their business through automation. Five Points then customized its proprietary Revolve system to meet MCH’s specific business needs. The system was developed, tested, implemented, and fully documented in a rapid development environment while working closely with the customer. Five Points provided technical support during user training and now hosts the system at its remote secure data processing facility with disaster recovery and business continuation plans in place.
